According to reports, Paul was arrested on Saturday, 28th May 2022 shortly before midnight in Napa County. Thereafter, it is claimed that Paul was taken in by the authorities.
In the picture from an alleged police report, we can see that Paul has been accused on two accounts. This includes driving under influence, as well as having the alcohol level above what it should have been.
Nancy was not allegedly present with Paul when he ended up getting arrested, but regardless, it was not his finest moment. His bail was set at $5,000, but Nancy has not commented directly about the incident as of yet.
However, a statement was made on her behalf. A representative for Nancy stated the following: “The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast.”
Instead, Nancy had other pressing issues on her mind. In her post on social media the day after the arrest, Nancy shared a speech she had given at Brown University. During the course of that process, Nancy was there to receive an honorary degree.
And as that was an important moment, she was hardly going to address the mistakes that her husband had made. Despite Nancy seeking to distance herself away from any controversy, the fans on social media were not going to have any of it.
They began to call out Paul over his behaviour and felt he had been given preferential treatment by the authorities. One person wrote: “Multi-millionaire couldn’t bother to get a driver or take an Uber. Since penalties are only for poor people and don’t scale, it will only be a minor inconvenience for him.”
