‘The Bachelorette’ Rumored Filming Location Will Be A First for The Franchise

The Bachelorette” season 19 is shaping up to look very different from anything before seen in the long-running franchise.

Dare we say “ship shape” ing up?

The latest rumor, which even Reality Steve agrees has teeth, has the double-headed Bachelorette season being filmed onboard a cruise ship!

Have ABC actually listened to their viewers?

It’s no secret the 20-year-old franchise is in trouble, with a string of unlikable leads, superfluous drama amongst contestants, and a formula that just isn’t jiving with fans anymore.

It didn’t help that long-time host, Chris Harrison was fired from his post and a suitable replacement has not been found.

Perhaps it was the success of the 2022 Joe Millionaire reboot: For Richer or Poorer, helmed by two likable leads- Kurt Sowers and Steven McBee that inspired executive producer, Mike Fleiss to hire two bachelorettes.

Season 26 Bachelor runner-ups, Gabby Windey a 31-year-old ICU nurse from Colorado, and Rachel Recchia, a 26-year-old flight instructor from Florida will be the ones to dole out the roses in July of this year and, in another new move, fans are believing they will be doing so while onboard Virgin Voyages’ Valliant Lady.

So, where did this wild rumor come from?

Professional spoiler and blogger, Reality Steve claims to be in copy of an email in regards to Virgin Cruise Lines cancelling cruise destinations for three weeks in April. While it is stated the cancellation is  due to “lack of sales”  the email allegedly also states that Virgin Voyages was approached by an American television company, willing to pay “over the odds for the entire ship for 3 weeks.”

However, the cruise ship rumor was first reported on Reddit back on March 10. The thread is titled, “Virgin Voyages cancels a month of cruises with only 12 days notice to charter the ship for The Bachelorette filming.”

The OP explains in the Reddit forum that “passengers are rightfully outraged. Twelve days notice for one of the cancelled cruises (late March and most of April, this is on the Valiant Lady).”

According to Reality Steve, this fits with The Bachelorette filming timeline, and “it would definitely be something new and different.” He has not gone as far as to call this anything but a rumor yet and has also been given information about the show being filmed in Paris.

What do you think if this new take on The Love Boat? Will you be watching the unprecedented season of The Bachelorette (whether it be on the high seas or the city of love or Tulsa, Oklahoma) or are you over it after two decades- like countless others?
