In the strange world of true crime, there are times when we think we’ve seen and heard it all. This story is one for the books though. A New Hampshire mother’s five-year-old son went missing and authorities found him buried in a shallow grave. She told police that he was “the next Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer.” She mentioned to them that she wanted him “gone.”

True Crime: The Charges and Case

This story just continues to get more and more complex. Danielle Dauphinais is now in jail and being charged with witness tampering and child endangerment. She is also connected with the disappearance of her son, Elijah Lewis, who was just five! Danielle has yet to be charged with his death, but she did send some messages to her friends on social media before he went missing.

True Crime: New Hampshire Mom Calls Son ‘The Next Ted Bundy’

Her friend, Erika Wolfe reported that she had received Snapchat messages from Danielle back in June. The messages read, “I call him the next Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer. It’s so sad but i have no connection with this child. His father took him at the age of one and never returned him until last May 2020. He’s been getting worse and worse. I want him gone. I can’t handle it anymore.”

When asked about her relationship with Danielle, Erika mentioned that they were friends when they were younger, but they hadn’t been in contact for many years. They found each other on social media again and started chatting. The messages about Elijah came when Erika asked about her son and about her life now. Erika was sharing some messages with her about her own son and raising a boy. It seems that Danielle then added her disturbing messages and ran with it.

Danielle also sent Erika messages about how her son would play with his own feces and wet the bed and his clothing. She told her, “I have to keep him in his room. I can’t trust him at all.”She also told Erika that the child welfare agency was involved in their case, but told her that they can’t do anything to help.

Erika told the Boston Globe, “In my mind, I’m thinking the New Hampshire Division for Children, Youth, and Families is probably checking in. I thought, ‘Oh, you’re having a rough time, and probably not the best comment choices, and we all have our days.'”

New Hampshire authorities arrested Danielle and her boyfriend, Joseph Stapf when they found Elijah’s body. They were in New York City and his body was found in the woods in Abington, Massachusetts.
