Let’s just say that she walked away quite bitter from her last job. There are new reports that say Meghan McCain couldn’t help but lash out at the producers of “The View,” calling the daytime gabfest an “experiment at left wing media.” Ouch. Here’s what she has to say.
During her interview with Sean Hannity on her Fox News show this week, Meghan, who is now a columnist at the Daily mail, said that she initially took the job at “The View” because her late father, Senator John McCain, loved the show and thought she was up for the job.
Meghan McCain Lashes Out At The Producers Of ‘The View’
“I actually really enjoyed the first year and a half,” she said, calling the ABC News daytime chat show “a great challenge” on “a huge platform.”
However, Meghan says that the more successful I was on ‘The View’ … the worse it got for me backstage, and then ultimately it started spilling out on air,” she said, noting the “toxicity got worse and worse.” “You are targeted if you’re the token conservative,” she continued.
Earlier in the month, Meghan said she left “The View” because it was emotionally taxing on her mental health. In an interview with Extra, Meghan said, “For me, it became emotionally taxing and I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore.”
Meghan also said that she realized it was more important for her to spend time with her family, which includes her husband Ben Domenech and their daughter, Liberty.
She further explained, “It was a confluence of things… I feel like I had three big existential moments in my life over the past few years: COVID, my dad dying, and then having a baby. It just makes you think about life and mortality and what you want and it’s, like, apparently the most shocking thing I’ve ever done because people were just, like, so surprised.”
