Meghan McCain has been thinking a lot about her late father, John McCain on the third anniversary of his death.

She honored her father who died on August 25, 2018, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer with a touching tribute on her Instagram page that showed the compassion a child has for their parent. She shared a photo of her father smiling while seated on a wooden bench with a beautiful backdrop with the following caption,

“3 years. How has it been 3 years…? You left a void in this world by leaving it that will never be filled. And when you left, so much light went with you. I think about you every single day. I miss your laugh, your humor, your wisdom, your cooking… I miss everything. I love you forever, Dad. illegitimi non carborundum.”

Meghan has continued to invoke her father’s lessons as she uses those lessons to continue her political commentary. She was on ‘The View’ until July this year and has now stated that she is planning to work on her and not overwork herself.

No matter your political affiliation, losing a parent is always difficult. We’re all humans, with feelings and compassion and while her father (and she) may go against your political stances, this is the moment where nearly everyone can recognize that this goes beyond the world of politics.

Several people commented on the post about how they had also lost a parent and how they hope it gets easier for her to get through day by day with him no longer in her life.

We hope it continues to be brighter for Meghan as she navigates life without her father.

What do you think? Do you think people should comment on their political disagreements on a post like this? Let us know in the comments below.
