Hey, no one can blame her for wanting to put her mental health priorities first in her life, right? Well, that’s exactly what Meghan McCain did as she now admits that she left The View because it was “emotionally taxing” on her. Here’s what you need to know.
In an interview with Extra, Meghan said, “For me, it became emotionally taxing and I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore.” Meghan also said that she realized it was more important for her to spend time with her family, which includes her husband Ben Domenech and their daughter, Liberty.

She further explained, “It was a confluence of things… I feel like I had three big existential moments in my life over the past few years: COVID, my dad dying, and then having a baby. It just makes you think about life and mortality and what you want and it’s, like, apparently the most shocking thing I’ve ever done because people were just, like, so surprised.”
Meghan has since left The View to begin her new career as a columnist for the Daily Mail. She shared her exciting news on Twitter back in September.
She said, “Everything in my life these days is about going back to basics. I started as a columnist & am thrilled at the chance to return to it @DailyMail – I am so excited to work in a completely uncensored free space. Thank you for this opportunity Martin Clarke!”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for Piers Morgan to comment on her post with, “Welcome aboard Meghan, great to have you on the team,” to which Meghan responded with, “Thank you Piers!”
