And you thought things were bad after you left your last job, huh? There’s a new report that says the staff of ABC’s The View have been banned from speaking to Meghan McCain by their executive producer. Here’s what you need to know.
Now that Meghan McCain is a new columnist for The Daily Mail, apparently Brian Teta is so paranoid of anyone feeding her gossip for the British tabloid that he’s banned staffers from speaking to her.
The View Staff Banned From Speaking To Meghan McCain
“Brian has lost his mind. What does he think this is? A cult, where everyone has to listen to what he has to say? We literally report into the news division. We’re being told not to talk to someone on the outside, who has different political views… who used to work with us,” a source on the show said.
And, for the record, “many of us are still in contact with her,” the source added.
Despite this, a spokesperson told Page Six: “This is not true. No one has been banned from talking to Meghan. Our focus is on the exciting season ahead and we wish the best for Meghan in her next chapter.”
Meanwhile, Meghan herself said that she left The View because it was “emotionally taxing.” In an interview with Extra, Meghan said, “For me, it became emotionally taxing and I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore.”
Meghan also said that she realized it was more important for her to spend time with her family, which includes her husband Ben Domenech and their daughter, Liberty.
She further explained, “It was a confluence of things… I feel like I had three big existential moments in my life over the past few years: COVID, my dad dying, and then having a baby. It just makes you think about life and mortality and what you want and it’s, like, apparently the most shocking thing I’ve ever done because people were just, like, so surprised.”
