It seems like the royal rota is really choosy when it comes to what stories they choose to report and what stories they choose to ignore. On the same weekend that Prince Charles’ ‘cash for honors’ scandal broke in the news, some members of the royal rota like Angela Levin chose to complete the matter altogether.
Instead, she focused her energy on slamming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Twitter for whatever reason. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal Critic Slams Prince Harry And Meghan Markle, But Completely Ignores Prince Charles’ Cash For Honors Scandal
According to reports, the Prince of Wales’ aide and one time valet Michael Fawcett has been accused of using his position to help a Saudi billionaire receive a golden visa. Saudi Arabian billionaire Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz reportedly paid tens of thousands of dollars to secure the title of honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
The Sunday Times said Mr Mahfouz, who denies any wrongdoing, donated large sums to restoration projects of particular interest to Prince Charles. However, the prince was not aware of any link between donations to the foundation and honours, a close source told the BBC.
And while you’d think that someone like Angela Levin would have something to say about this, she doesn’t. Instead, she wrote on Twitter: “Harry and Meghan like to challenge senior royals and especially the Queen. It’s hard for her to turn away her beloved grandson however badly he’s behaved but they are bound to have some a different agenda up their sleeves and she could loose out whatever she decides.”
The lack of reporting and complete radio silence from the royal rota has forced some people like “Finding Freedom” author Omid Scobie to call them out. He said, “Always interesting to see the cheerleaders and mouthpieces (who usually don’t waste a second jumping on Twitter or some £75-a-soundbite radio show) go quiet during a scandal.”
