‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ Spoilers finds that, the entire family was infected with COVID-19, even the littlest ones, one of which, little Dawson Derrico, who was gravely ill anyway with a hole in her heart. However, thankfully, all of the family survived and have now fully recovered, and they’ve added a new family member.
‘Doubling Down With The Derricos’: Gigi.
No, not “GG”, Grandma staying with them was not a permanent move (although she did end up moving to Las Vegas and is in a rental property that they own just down the street from the Derrico’s house), no, rather Dad Deon and Mom Karen Derrico broke down and got a dog! Deon is self-proclaimed “OCD” and says that he has a problem with everything, and therefore his houses are all very clean.
‘Doubling Down With The Derricos’: The Dirreco’s have a dog!
Gigi is a brindle bulldog that all of the little Derricos are tasked with taking care of. Apparently, Karen didn’t want Gigi at first, and was surprised when Deon was the one who ended up getting the dog but it’s kind of a ploy to teach the kids responsibility.
The bad thing is, he has said that the moment he smells “Gigi” then she is a goner – we can only hope that the kids can keep up their new care regimine of Gigi so that she continues to be a family member. We saw that he was teaching the kids how to bathe Gigi and quizzing them on proper pet care, so it’s not like he’s expecting them to know everything straight out of the gate, which is good.
Rather is he teaching them proper pet care. However, one wondes what prompted them to get a dog because while they didn’t seem anti-pet before they just seemed too busy to even think of getting one.
However sometimes with children, one has to compromise a bit. Karen and Deon, left to their own devices, would probably never get a dog, but with that many kids – at least one of them had to be an animal lover, and Deon said that when he was a child that they had dog. He did say that Gigi the dog’s name was not inspired by Grandma GG at all.
Grandma GG only got her nickname after his oldest daughter was born, because “Grandma” or “Granny” wasn’t flashy enough for her, however he never did say exactly how the dog acquired her name. Hmm, curiouser and curiouser, stay tuned!!!
