After 11 seasons, Counting On has been canceled by TLC, citing the situation with Josh Duggar as the main reason. In a statement provided to PEOPLE magazine the network said, “TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On. TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.”

‘Their situation’ is the eldest Duggar son, Josh’s arrest on child pornography charges.

‘Counting On’: Officially Canceled By TLC

This isn’t the first time Josh Duggar has managed to cut off the money train to his family. Counting on was the spin off to 19 Kids and Counting, cancelled by the network after news that Josh had molested 5 teenaged girls, including his sisters, came to light.

In the time between 19 Kids and Counting’s cancellation and Counting On’s premier, Josh managed to squeak out another scandal. He was found to have more than one active account on Ashley Madison, a website designed for married folks to cheat on their spouses.

It did not come as a shock that Josh Duggar was not invited to film for the spin-off.

In April this year, at the time of Josh’s arrest for possession and receiving child pornography, TLC released a statement saying “TLC is saddened to learn about the continued troubles involving Josh Duggar.” They also wanted to remind viewers that, “19 Kids and Counting has not aired since 2015. TLC cancelled the show on the heels of prior allegations against Josh Duggar and he has not appeared on-air since then.”

With Counting On cancelled, it will be the first time since 2008 that the Duggars have not had a show on TLC.

Just hours after the news dropped about the show’s cancellation, Jinger Duggar Vuolo and her husband Jeremy Vuolo, released a statement on Instagram saying,

“We are grateful for TLC giving us the opportunity to be on their network over the years and their kindness towards the Vuolo family. It’s been a remarkable journey that has opened doors to traveling and experiencing the world in a way that we wouldn’t have imagined possible,” they wrote about the show.

“We wholeheartedly agree with TLC’s decision not to renew ‘Counting On’ and are excited for the next chapter in our lives. We’d like to thank our fans, friends and the amazing film crew who have shown us love and support. We look forward to continuing our creative journey in Los Angeles and seeing what the future holds.”

No one seems to be very surprised by the cancellation, in fact it has been noticed that the Duggar children had been flocking to social media to gain sponsorships in attempts to become influencers, keeping those dollars rolling on in.
