She’s got her back. Singer Christina Aguilera has spoken out in support of Britney Spears by stressing the important of women having rights over their own bodies.
In fact, the singer, who was once pitted as Spears’ rival during the peak of their careers, has gone on the record to criticize the “unacceptable” and “demeaning” treatment of Spears after the popstar publicly condemned the conservatorship that controls her life and career in a court in LA last week. Here’s what she has to say.
During her court hearing last week, Spears made it clear that she wants her conservatorship to end immediately without any testing and does not want to attend therapy twice a week.

Her conservatorship is split into two parts – one is for her estate and financial affairs, the other is for her as a person. Under this legal agreement, the singer has not controlled her finances since 2008.
And now Christina Aguilera is making it clear that she is certainly on Team Britney Spears.
“These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through,” Aguilera wrote on Twitter Monday. “It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.”
“To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable. Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.”
She concluded: “To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life. My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”
Meanwhile, Spears’ sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, said that she is “so proud” of her for using her voice to publicly condemn the legal arrangement.
“If ending the conservatorship and flying to Mars or whatever the hell else she wants to do to be happy – I support that 100% because I support my sister. I love my sister”, she said in a video shared to social media.
