ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is still far away from Port Charles and unaware of who he is. However, the actor did appear in a scene where he interacted with a daydreaming Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
While we wait for the inevitable reunion (and wonder how much of a mess this will be), let’s take a look at why “Mike” needs to proceed with caution.

So, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Sonny is going by his given name now, and he’s almost like a new person with this amnesia. He definitely has a more relaxed, loose vibe we love.
Although, we expect that to disappear the second he’s home again. After all, look at the mess awaiting him when he returns?
For now, though, he seems to be making the best of the situation and settling in pretty well. It helps he’s got such kind, fun hosts, even if they are a bit naïve. This is where we think Sonny might have a problem ahead.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Instincts die hard
Of course, whether he’s Mike or Sonny, it seems those people reading instincts essential to survival in his line of work didn’t go away with his memory.
And he recently turned those instincts on Elijah Crowe (Dan White). The thing is, he got proof Thursday that he’s right about him. This guy embezzled from a former boss. Here’s where we see his first issue.
Obviously, Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) loves the guy. She’s known him for a long time, and she and her husband helped him once. So, she has all the trust in the world he’s a decent person who genuinely wanted to help them.
We think if Sonny tries to convince her that this guy is a crook that stole from his former boss, she’ll have a hard time accepting that. This could impact his standing at the Tan-O. Not to mention put Elijah on alert. If he’s as street smart still as he appears, he’ll wait until he gets something solid. But that leads to another problem.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: At a disadvantage
Whether he has those instincts or not, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that he still doesn’t know who he is. That means he doesn’t have the Corinthos Empire money behind him, nor the man power and other advantages of Sonny’s work.
Meanwhile, Elijah is obviously powerful and connected. After all, he’s clearly the one causing all those robberies that have ruined the Tan-O’s and other businesses in the area.
So, Sonny going against Elijah right now is a bit like, as they pointed out on ‘Days of Our Lives’, Goliath and Bugs Bunny facing off. He’ll have to work quietly and quickly to get an advantage, and he already showed a bit of his hand by telling Elijah, “I’m on to you.”
Obviously, this is going to make things harder. We’re looking forward to seeing how Sonny manages to turn this situation around, and whether this will eventually lead to him remembering his past.
