Looks like Tati Westbrook picked the wrong person to do business with. A certain Mr. Swanson, CEO of Halo Beauty, has just been counter-sued by Tati Westbrook for failure to perform his duties within their business partnership.
As we all know, Tati got sued by Mr. Swanson for going behind his back and making a makeup palette without his knowledge but in her counter-lawsuit Tati maintains that this was something that she had to do in order to keep business afloat.

Her counter-suit alleges that she was lied to by Mr. Swanson, who had told her that previously he was a successful businessman, but as it turns out his previous company was never profitable under his leadership (ouch) and he had to borrow half the start-up capital from someone else, a fact that he originally hid from the Westbrook’s.
There wre also something in the court documents alleging that at one point, Mr. Swanson created a fictitious only persona that he said was the Westbrook’s “personal assistant”, information that Tati would probably never have known about until she got tipped off by Mr. Swanson’s brother via email. Mr. Swanson was pretending to be a woman and using the Westbrook’s name to get work done for a cheap price.
Not only was this guy scamming people in order to get work done using the Westbrook name, but in 2017 he admitted to having an addiction to Klonopin, a drug often prescribed for anxiety and panic attacks.
After this information was disclosed Tati said that she was ready to leave Halo Beauty unless things changed because things were not progressing at all on the business end if she didn’t see some changes then she would leave and Mr. Swanson and Mr. Westbrook could run Halo all by their lonesome. So it ended up, that Tati’s husband ended up taking over the day-to-day business operations of Halo Beauty.
What ended up happening was that at one point, this guy got himself into a jam and begged the Westbrook’s to let him have a loan of $200K interest free out of the goodness of their heart. Originally they had agreed to reinvest that money into the business, but since he had agreed to pay back the original investor they had a heart and let him have the money in which to pay them back with.
The suit says that the Westbrook’s never made any kind of deal with Halo Beauty to be exclusive and that the agreement never stated that they couldn’t conduct business outside of Halo Beauty, just that anything they did couldn’t compete with neutriceuticals, which is the company producing Halo Beauty’s vitamins. A makeup palette would not compete with that at all.
They accuse Mr. Swanson of agitating Jeffree Star by following Jeffree to his lamborghini and sitting in it. Jeffree responded with some classic Jeffree Star shade by telling him to schedule a test drive.
They also say that he was disrespectful towards Tati’s female staff, maintaining that while he was respectful towards the men in the company that he would often get aggressive with female members of staff – not to mention, handsy. Yeah, that’s just the type of guy you want to associate yourself and your business with right there, I tell ya.
At one point, the business partner wanted Tati to endorse CBD oil which, as we all know, is made from Cannabis, However Tati’s husband James said in a text message exchange that Tait was held to a higher moral standard and was “not Jeffree Star” and they both had a legal and moral exception to endorsing any kind of CBD product.
There were a lot of profanities in the exchange between James and Mr. Swanson, and I guess for now we don’t know what happened with the CBD products but since Halo Beauty never ended up launching them I guess it didn’t fly after all. Stay tuned!!!
