Recently, Shane’s boyfriend, Ryland Adams posted a video on his channel about he and Shane redoing their bedroom. In this video, Shane is acting normal, as if nothing ever happened, and everything is fine. And the thing is, in Ryland’s comment section, there is absolutely no drama.
That’s what’s puzzling people because you would think Shane popping up would be problematic for Ryland and would get him a bunch of hate comments. However, it looks like everyone’s chill in the comments and there’s a good portion of them that are saying that they missed seeing Shane on youtube.

That’s not to say that there aren’t some skeptical people out there, one person in particular asked if comments were being deleted because all they could find were positive comments about the situation.
Wow, that’s kind of sad that people would think that after a decade or more on youtube that the only thing people would remember about you is your problematic content when that’s not the only thing Shane ever did. Some things he did were genuinely funny, granted it was done after his problematic period was over, but he still had some real winners in my opinion.
Shane seemed to be safe as long as he did videos that were just basically him having fun with the camera, like him trying food videos or playing with toys, or microwaving things or making weird cakes – let’s admit it, on some level we all liked that Shane and I wouldn’t mind a return of that guy, I don’t know about anyone else.
(I know I know, he’s said that he would never do that again… a gal can dream, can’t she?) When he veered into more serious documentary territory, that’s when things went sideways for him. It seemed that there was a responsibiity that went along with it that Shane was just not ready for, that coupled with problematic content that he was still making money off of until he deleted it a few months ago, seemed to fuel his demise.
So, is the internet ready for a Shane Dawson comeback? Honestly, the youtube landscape isn’t the same without him. We don’t really know if he’s learned his lesson because he hasn’t made any content since the whole debacle and therefore really has not proven himself to his audience yet.
But does he really need to? People, at least on Ryland’s channel seem to be pretty open to him returning to the platform and as long as Shane doesn’t prove to be problematic again, then I just judging from those comments he would be safe to return.
Of course, there’s also the possibility that this is just Ryland’s audience that is okay with him returning, but I don’t know. Shane’s been a part of youtube for so long that it seems weird to move forward without the guy, just my opinion. We’ll keep you updated. Stay tuned!!!
