The BLM movement happened and there was radio silence on Tana Marie Mongeau’s end, all except for her twitter name changing to ‘Black Lives Matter’. However since then Kahlen Barry and SimplyNessa15, two prominent Black Youtubers have called her and her manager, Jordan Worona, out for having racial microaggression towards them, and still, there was radio silence.
I could kind of see Jordan being radio silent about the whole thing because he is in the business of PR and probably doesn’t want to say anything that anyone could roast him for later. That’s just a smart PR move, don’t say anything bad now, and you can’t be roasted later. (Jordan did later release a statement but he addressed literally nothing that Kahlen or Nessa said. He made a very general statement about current events and how Tana is a changed person but kept the heat off himself. Wow bro.) However, Tana’s just now learning that there are consequences for your actions, even if those actions are just verbal.
MTV started getting DMs and emails with receipts, of things that Tana has said in the past. No one is standing for this anymore, what passed in the early part of the decade as being “not racist” simply doesn’t cut it anymore and MTV realizes this, which is why they have officially fired Tana and her show probably won’t have a third season on youtube. If she does have a third season, I’m pretty sure it will be all self-filmed and placed on her own youtube channel.

u knew i had a long ass pride post coming 🏳️🌈💗 i never thought i’d be brave enough to publicly share my sexuality in the way i do now.. i still struggle with it- i hate the boxes, i hate people telling me i’m straight or discrediting my relationship if i’m with a girl.. but i’m proud to be not only a member but an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and i’m proud to say i will live my life based on loving people not for their gender but their soul. some people call that pansexuality, everyone calls me bi, i personally don’t find a need to label it all.. love and sexuality is gender less to me & i’m so lucky to have this platform to speak openly about that. also fuck our president for his absolute inhumane ideals toward the lgbtqia community and u better be voting his ass out with me.. it hurts my heart to even be posting about pride knowing that the rights of Trans people were just so sickeningly ripped from them. i will use the way that angers me to fight for change. I LOVE ALL OF U LGBTQIA BABIES, EXACTLY WHO YOU FEEL LIKE INSIDE IS EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE MEANT TO BE 🏳️🌈🖤
Tana as days late putting out any kind of statement of her own, apologizing for the way she has been in the past and saying that from now on she’s only going to use her platform for good, but her silence spoke volumes, and only when she got hit in the pocketbook did she really do or say anything about it. I’m not going to put the blame entirely on Jordan here, maybe he perpetuated her not saying anything for fear of angering the mob further but let’s face it, Tana’s a 22 year old woman perfectly capable of making her own decisions, manager or not.
She could have absolutely said something addressing the things that she has said in her past before now but she chose to remain silent. She said that that was in the name of educating herself, which, we can all stand to do but she could have spoken up and said that instead of making her audience wait. We could have all applauded her if she had said previously that she was taking a break to educate herself, But she said nothing and her fans are all rather disappointed in that. I’m not saying that she can’t come back from this, she is still young and seems willing to learn, but let’s hope that in the future she shows a little more forethought in her actions.
