CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that we should get honest: whose breath hasn’t Brytni Sarpy taken away? And I’m not just talking about Bryton James! I’m talking about everyone in general. The beautiful actress joined in on the action last year as the infamous Dr. Elena Dawson. Though she was new to Genoa City, Sarpy wasn’t a stranger to soap opera acting. In fact, she made her first soap opera debut as a police officer on General Hospital!
Sarpy did a recent interview with CBS Watch Magazine about her first day on set with ‘Young and the Restless’ Crew, “It was cool. It was familiar in that I knew a good handful of people there already. When I got there, I saw Camryn Grimes (Mariah) – who I’ve done some charity work with over the past two years. I saw Jason Thomspon (Billy; ex-Patrick, GH) who I worked with on General Hospital. And Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) who I did a project with nine years ago!”

Sarpy continued, “After my first day on set, the entire cast and crew clapped for me. I thought that was the sweetest, nicest thing ever. I thought that would be indicative of my time there, and it has been.”

Ironically enough, Sarpy ran into Bryton James, who plays Devon Hamilton, shortly before she got to her audition, “I showed up for my screen test and I didn’t know where to park. That was just the beginning of me getting lost at CBS! And Bryton happened to be the person that I asked for help. I didn’t know he was the one I was going to screen test with until we went upstairs. We laughed and just had great chemistry and became fast friends.” Spoiler alert: the two became more than fast friends, as they now nourish a romance off-screen and recently have celebrated their one-year anniversary of dating.
