ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal the 2015 Nurses Ball kicked off today. This episode led to a dramatic moment, and provided a lot of laughs. In fact, watching the 2014 one and episode one of 2015 leads us to come up with some rules. Let’s take a look.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dramatic moment
First off, let’s talk about the most dramatic moment of the episode. It involved Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and her relationship with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). He’d apparently gotten in the way of her relationship with Jake Barnes (Billy Miller) because Ric and Elizabeth had been unfairly torn apart. To fix things, he staged a scam with Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) to make Elizabeth believe Jake was already married. Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) exposed this right in the middle of Ric’s performance. Which, by the way, was to be a proposal for Elizabeth. Needless to say, they did not get engaged in this episode and she told him she never wanted to see him again. It was crazy, and totally fitting of a soap.
As a plus, though, Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) got to stand in when the performance got cut off. He also got inspired and proposed to Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) on stage. It’s nice to see them enjoying each other and being happy, but it also makes us feel bad about what was in store for this couple. Poor Lucas didn’t deserve that. However, General Hospital spoilers indicate there were light moments.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: New Rule #1
First of all, we would like to use this article to set forth some rules we think every ball must follow. The first is getting Liesl Obretch (Kathleen Gati) to hijack every opening performance. In 2015, there was a bet between Brad and Lucas on whether she would repeat her 2014 antics. When the opening number went off without a hitch, there was a funny shot of Brad paying up. However, almost immediately after, Liesl did actually crash the event, making Lucas hand the money back.
Even better was her choice of 99 Luft Balloons, then her reminiscing about the days when a nuclear threat was very real. We can’t with how wistful she seemed, and it totally fits her character. We loved Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) trying to make the best of that and cut her off before she could bring the mood down any further.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Rule #2
We believe there was another moment that must be a part of every gala episode. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate 2014 and 2015 both featured Brad and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) watching the red carpet and snarking on the action. It’s awesome, and the friendship feels so real. We cracked up watching them complain about how no one fell yet, and the boa lady had the nerve to show up in something tasteful and nice. Luckily, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) cam along and took a dive not long after. Their hysterical laughter was priceless and we want more.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Honorable mention
We can’t believe the difference a few years makes. We know Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) can be a bit much. When we first saw him in action, he and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) were talking about his voting tampering. But this younger version of the character shows he’s got a bit of a feisty/snobby side. We got a kick out of him calling Cameron Webber (William Lipton) a “townie” and felt bad for him as he struggled with a disfiguring accident’s aftermath. He even had a Phantom mask to complete the picture, and we loved it. We want more Spencer, please. Preferably with a Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher/Marcus Coloma) who is on good terms with him and acting like the old version.
