HBO has had another tremendous year. With the conclusion of their hit series Game of Thrones, what does the future hold? Luckily for us, the view, HBO has a ton of new content for the new year! From new seasons of your favorite shows to new movies and even new original series. There are even rumors of the Game of Thrones spin-off show, House of the Dragon releasing this year. Though, we can’t be sure.
There is plenty of content to keep you busy though! There’s a lot coming to HBO this January, and we’re going to go through it right now.
HBO New Series
Two completely new series are releasing just this month, with many more throughout the year. This month you can catch The Outsider on January 12, as well as their new comedy Avenue 5 on January 19.
The Outsider is based on a Stephen King novel and stars Jason Bateman as a likable guy around a small town. He coaches and helps his community, however, the town is flipped upsidedown when he is suspected of murdering a young boy. The series spans the investigation of the murder and looks to turn supernatural as the story progresses!
Avenue 5 stars Hugh Laurie and Josh Gad as the owner and captain of a cruise ship… in space! This comedy looks like gold and having Laurie and Gad together is sure to cause some laughs. After their ship breaks down with a lot of passengers on board they will have to find a way to keep everyone safe.
New Seasons
Two new seasons start this month for two very popular shows. The New Pope, starring John Malkovich and Jude Law starts again January 13. Will Law’s character be able to work with Malkovich’s any better or will we see the boiling point this season?
The second show launches its ninth season, Curb Your Enthusiasm starring Larry David begins again January 19.
