TLC show, Welcome to Plathville, has shown us quite a bit about the Plath family. We have learned that the Plath parents, Kim and Barry Plath, want only the best for their nine children, even if it means pushing them away. That seems to be the case with the oldest daughter, Moriah. She recently told her mother that she wanted to go to college and Kim got very defensive and upset. Let’s find out why.

Kim did sit down to talk to Moriah about what she wanted to do with her future. She brought up that she wants to go to college and she wants to explore life somewhere else. Of course, Kim got very defensive and began to show worry about this. Why is she so worried? She has mentioned that she went to a large college and she made some bad choices when she had the freedom of being far away from home.

Do Barry and Kim raise their children the way they do because of how Kim acted when she was in college? Many people are starting to think so. In a recent clip from Moriah’s college interview at Stetson University, we see Kim get very uncomfortable when the topic of sororities comes up. Why is she acting this way? It seems that she may have had quite the past when she was in college.
Kim explained that she is worried that Moriah will make the same mistakes that she did when she was in college. She said Moriah has many of the same traits that she did as a young adult and it is beginning to make her worry. Kim didn’t like the idea that the counselor brought up joining a sorority. She shared with the show that she made bad choices in college. She said that she got into drinking and drugs and there was a point that she would wake up in her car because she drove it drunk into someone’s yard!
It seems that Kim was quite the rebellious teen when she went off to college and this is causing a lot of anxiety for her that Moriah now wants to go. Will Kim keep Moriah from going to college because of her careless past or will Moriah make the choice to go anyway? We are very excited to see how this unfolds.
