‘General Hospital’ spoilers finds that if there is one cause that is very close to star Maurice Benard’s heart, it’s definitely mental health awareness. ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) Launches Huge New Project!
As many ‘General Hospital’ fans know, Maurice has always been very open about his bipolar disease. Not only does he openly talk about it during his press interviews, but the hit ABC soap has also tackled the issue in past and recent story lines as well.
“State of Mind, to me, means being 100% present, feeling completely at peace inside of you, not letting your thoughts control your life, and always looking for ways to be the best that you can be,” reads Benard’s mission statement for the site.

Maurice added that one of the reasons why he launched the website is so that he could reach out to his fans. His Sunday sessions podcast will be available on the site along with helpful tools and articles from mental health experts and professionals. If that weren’t enough, he also wants his fans to know that they are most certainly not alone in their struggles. If there is anyone who knows what it feels like to deal with internal issues and life challenges, it’s definitely Maurice.
“It’s a communion I have with my audience,” he shared on Instagram. “I speak of my life living with mental illness, we talk, we laugh, sometimes we cry. In the end, I always feel like I’ve gone through something.”
