‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that Melinda Trask (Laura Kai Chen) won’t budge, but she also has a heart. Also, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) deals with some hard truth from Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) has hope, and Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) and Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) are saying goodbye. In case you missed it, let’s get to the day’s ‘Days of Our Lives’ recap.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Big break
Chloe’s back from her audition in New York and can’t even with what’s happened since she left—or the idea Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) actually slept with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). She’s especially angry, though, that Kirsten would blame her for Holly’s death and then throw the dress Chloe chose for the funeral in her face. As they talk, a call comes in that her audition went well. She’s invited to join an opera company for their upcoming season.
Upon learning that Holly may really be alive, she’s reluctant to take the job. Holly might need her. Brady points out that, should Holly be alive, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) is likely alive and with her as well. Plus, he points out that she’s given up a lot of things in the past for others. It’s time she’s thinking of #1.
All these arguments eventually convince her to say yes, but not until after Brady assures her that if Holly is live and they bring her home, she’ll always be a part of the kid’s life.

‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Chance offer
Chloe isn’t the only one with a sudden opportunity to look forward to. Tripp also learns that he’s gotten into a med school he’d applied to, but wasn’t sure he’d get in. He’d promised if he did, however, he’d go. It’s great timing as far as he’s concerned, as the situation with him and Haley Chen (Thia Megia) has been tough—and the animosity JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) has toward him after the whole sedative thing.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Staying put
All this means that Haley and JJ won’t be moving in with Melinda as planned. Tripp tells that that since he got that letter, they can have the loft to themselves.
Hayley and JJ are thrilled, as neither one was exactly looking forward to staying with Hayley’s sister/mother. And only in a soap can one type a sentence like that.
There is one person very disappointed, though—Melinda. She’d dropped by on a break to give them a key to the place and mentioned wanting to make Haley’s favorite dumplings for dinner. When she breaks the news about them staying put, Melinda plays it off, but you can tell that she was actually looking forward to having them around. JJ and Hayley also take note of this, but don’t say so in front of her. Aww… the former dragon lady turns out to be a softie. We kinda like it. It’s nice seeing a more vulnerable side to her.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: No deal
One thing Melinda is not soft about, though, is crime. Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) practically begs her to give Kristen a deal so he can learn where Nicole and Holly are, but she won’t budge. Kristen’s an attempted murderer who held her one-time victim at gunpoint after being involved in two kidnappings, a death, and all kinds of other scams/crimes.
She is not going to terrorize the streets of Salem another minute. Not even Eric throwing Melinda’s rule breaking for Haley in her face will convince her. She thinks it’s a different situation, as Haley was not a public menace. We both agree and disagree. She still played fast and loose with the law while a DA, but Kristen is just insane and dangerous.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Letter from beyond
In other news, Melinda also played messenger today. It seems a letter with Hope’s name on it was found among Ted’s personal effects. After checking it to make sure it was not relevant to the case, she hands it over to Hope. Since Hope was a bit emotional earlier and expressed guilt to Jennifer for not doing more and seeing the signs, it’s no wonder she looked very unsure of what to think about it.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Hope for a cure
Jennifer has a brainstorm today while chatting with Hope. She realizes that if Kristen was able to make a mask of Nicole (and so many survived that explosion), she’s sure that Dr. Wilhlem Rolf (William Utay) has to be alive somewhere. If they can get Kristen to give up his location, they might be able to help Jack.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Jack’s choice
Speaking of Jack… after Eric fails to get Melinda to budge, he starts badgering Jack. He actually gets aggressive enough that we’re surprised no one is stepping in to ensure the Mayor’s safety. Anyway, he insists that his hands are tied, as it’s Melinda’s job to decide who she gives a deal to and when.
He may just change his mind. At least, partly. Jennifer rushed to the Salem PD to tell Jack all about her idea. She thinks there’s a way for Jack to both make Melinda happy and give Kristen something she’ll value enough to give up what she knows about the good doctor. We’ll see if his sidebar later with Melinda will go anywhere.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Also…
Sarah is definitely feeling the insecurity today, especially after Xander points out that Eric is going to do everything possible to find Nicole now that he knows she’s alive.
