For wrestling fans, WWE is the pinnacle, and that the only way after leaving the company is down. It’s fair to say, that is often the case, but there have been numerous stars that have departed the company to excel elsewhere.
These superstars that have excelled have largely gone on to excel in a totally new career altogether outside of wrestling. But, which stars have seen their stock rise after leaving the WWE?
WWE News: Brock Lesnar
There isn’t anywhere else to start except Brock Lesnar. The Beast has excelled wherever he has gone, but very few expected that to be the case when he turned his back on the WWE in 2004. However, Lesnar ridiculed those claims by first trying out in the NFL.
He missed the grade by a whisker with the Minnesota Vikings, which is credit to Lesnar as a pure athlete. However, he finally made a new home for himself in MMA, as he signed with the UFC in 2008.
Not only did his career in the organisation take his name to a new level, but it also ensured that the UFC became a serious player. Lesnar shocked everyone by winning the Heavyweight Championship in UFC after defeating Randy Couture, before successfully defending the championship on two occasions against Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. He eventually lost the title to Cain Valasquez before returning to WWE in 2012.
WWE News: The Rock
While Brock Lesnar found a new home in the octagon, the Rock showcased that WWE stars could pave out a new life for themselves in Hollywood. Nowadays, The Rock is one of the most famous stars on the planet, and that all started when he left the WWE in 2004 to concentrate on acting.
Throughout his career, he has starred in a range of genres, which just highlights how supremely talented he is. He has starred in comedies such as The Other Guys and Jumanji, as well as action films such as San Andreas, The Fast of the Furious and Hobbs & Shaw.
WWE News: Batista
Batista was one of the biggest stars in WWE throughout his career. He won the World Heavyweight Championship on numerous occasions, and there was a huge shock when he eventually left the company in 2010 after a shocking rant in the middle of the ring. His next step was into the world of MMA, as he won he won his only fight in CES MMA against Vince Lucero.
Hollywood was next for Batista, and he has notably starred in Guardians Of The Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame. It’s hard to see him as anything other than a success outside of WWE, as he has also starred in James Bond film ‘Spectre’.
