A women’s empowerment organization is criticizing Tiger Woods for his tampon joke at a PGA Tour event, saying how dare he because he has his own daughter sitting at home. Tiger’s tampon moment, according to Kara Sugar, CEO of the Women’s Global Empowerment Fund, was not only misogynistic but also tone-deaf and openly disrespectful to women and girls around the globe.

When Tiger hit his ball farther than Justin Thomas during their Friday round of the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, he gave his buddy and rival a Tampax as a slight that Justin ‘hits like a girl’. A playful jab between friends that is being blown up for no reason.

The women’s group says they are upset to see Tiger do something like this because he’s a grown man with a daughter and they believe the joke distracts from the real issues that women and girls experience around the world regarding mental health and periods.

Tiger came out and made a comment about the moment trying to appease anyone who didn’t like the joke saying, “It was supposed to be all fun and games. Obviously it hasn’t turned out that way. If I offended anybody in any way, shape, or form, I’m sorry.”

Another fun and playful moment that is being blown out of proportion. This is not offensive to any normal woman and even if it was… who cares? It was a joke between two friends that doesn’t concern anyone else but them. I would be willing to bet that the people upset didn’t even watch it live, nor golf at all, so why be concerned? Get a life, and move on with it. How much longer are we going to fake being offended to try to cancel people?

What do you think? Did you think the joke was funny? Let us know in the comments below.
