Sometime in January 2022, the Winnie-the-Pooh universe entered the public domain. All except for Tigger’s character, which is still protected under copyright. However, this means that anyone can take the Pooh character and transform it into something original. It did not take long for it to become a horror film!
While we were treated to a short teaser a few months ago, we couldn’t really get a good idea of what was going on, but with the trailer, we can see that Christopher Robin abandoned his beloved friends in the 100-acre woods. Upon getting married, he takes his bride-to-be back to meet them. However, they’ve reverted back to their animalistic ways!
Winnie-The-Pooh Horror Film Gets A Full Trailer – Check Out These Viewer Reactions
The trailer is scary, we predict there will be a lot of blood and we’re not sure if Christoper Robin is going to be able to make it out of this one alive. He should have taken care of his friends! Viewers reacted to the trailer saying, “The filmmakers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.”, “I don’t know if this movie’s gonna be good, but I’m still gonna watch it just for novelty value.”, “Finally, someone taking advantage of the fact that Winnie-the-Pooh is on public domain”, “Cant wait for the sequel – Winnie the Pooh 2: The Wrath of Tigger.”, “Can’t wait to see this!” and “This looks so absolutely ridiculous…of course I’m going to watch it.”
While the film idea seems ridiculous, it has definitely captured the attention of a lot of people. I know I will be watching this as soon as it releases! It will be coming to DVD and video-on-demand worldwide! Be sure to keep an eye out for the release!
