Now this is something we haven’t heard Will Smith say before. The Hollywood actor admitted that he had once experienced suicidal thoughts. He made the admission while taping a YouTube series about physical fitness and weight loss.
In a trailer for “Best Shape of My Life,” Will said, “This began as a journey to get into the best shape of my life.” The actor can be seen sitting around a table with his children Trey, 28, Willow, 20, and Jaden, 23.
Will Smith Admits To Once Having Suicidal Thoughts
“When I started this show, I thought I was getting into the best shape of my life physically, but mentally I was somewhere else,” he said in a voiceover for the series which premieres Nov. 8. “I ended up discovering a whole lot of hidden things about myself. That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide.”
However, the actor has not clarified exactly when he had those suicidal thoughts.
Just last week, Will’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about how hard it is to maintain a good marriage. Girl, we feel you.
“The thing Will and I talk about a lot is the journey. We started in this at a very young age, you know, 22 years old,” she explained. “That’s why the accountability part really hit for me because I think you expect your partner to know [what you need], especially when it comes to sex. It’s like, ‘Well, if you love me, you should know. If you love me, you should read my mind.’ That’s a huge pitfall.”
