In an interview with Good Morning America this morning, Wendy Williams finally addressed her situation. A few months ago, her bank, Wells Fargo, requested a conservatorship for Williams because they felt that she was under undue financial influence, but Wendy herself denies the allegations and simply says that the bank balked because she “wants to see all of her money that she has worked hard for”, indeed it is a little strange that a financial institution would try to instate control over someone’s finances.

Both Williams and her spokesperson denies these allegations. When asked about whether or not she’s ready to come back and start filming her show however she at first said that she was completely comfortable with that, then backtracked and said that there were “private things” that she needed to deal with and that she would need about three months in order to get ready to host again, and that these private things have nothing to do with her health – still, that’s not very long in the long run if you think about how long Williams has already been off the air due to her battle with thyroid problems and graves disease.

That was the reason that she had to actually take leave of her show in the first place was due to her health. It is not proven that Grave’s Disease nor thyroid disease for that matter has any impact on the mind or on one’s ability to control one’s finances.

Rather, it is odd that a financial institution would stick its nose so far into the personal business of one of its consumers, the only statements that the bank has made thus far have just said that they deny any improper handling of Mrs. William’s finances and they simply want to help her with her debts but the term conservatorship has very negative connotations these days and isn’t something to be taken lightly, especially with someone as vibrant as Wendy.

She promises that she will be back on The Wendy Show better than ever, but will she? Because it looks like they’ve already gotten her replacement lined up, Sherri Shepard. We’ll see how this turns out. Stay tuned!!!
