‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers reveal that Isaac Plath, the youngest Plath son, has always wanted to become a pilot. That has been apparent to the Plath since he was about 4 years old. It really ramped up in season 2 when he got the flight simulator.

Now at age 15 he is going for his private pilot license, he says that his parents set them up to accomplish their goals and it looks like Isaac has a pretty straightforward path, even though he didn’t mention college in any of it.

‘Welcome to Plathville’: Isaac takes flight

He says that first he intends to get his private pilot license, something that can be achieved according to Aero Atlanta, by the age of 17 if you have 250 hours of flight lessons under your belt. Isaac said that he intends on taking “a whole bunch of flying lessons”.

After that, he intends on getting in instrument reading license, which I am assuming means he is qualified to read the instruments on board and that sounds like a step to becoming a co-pilot. Finally, after that he says he wants to get his commercial pilot license.

Again, it seems like he has a pretty straightforward path, honestly I always thought joining the military might be a part of it in the future, but no mention of that. Although with as strictly as Isaac’s life has been regimented it seems that he wouldn’t have that much trouble fitting into that environment – at least in theory.

The good thing is, the Plaths want to support this dream wholeheartedly and for once, we can stand behind one of Kim and Barry’s decisions.

The thing is, Isaac is the one paying for his own flight lessons – although I really don’t know how he’s doing that. We only saw Lydia going for a job at the auto shop, we didn’t see Isaac applying for any sort of job. Unless whatever he gets from the show is put towards his flight lessons – which honestly could be a thing.

Barry says that he believes in letting a child work for money and not handing things to them, which, in some cases can be kind of admirable, but at 15 with no job? It’s a little… much, for poor Isaac. Though who knows how much money Isaac has socked away, maybe he has a lot of money socked away from birthdays, sort of like Mercy did.

Barry wants to teach his kids that time is money and again… that can be admirable in some cases but it can’t always apply. We’ll see how that turns out. Stay tuned!!!
