‘Welcome to Plathville’ Spoilers ask: Can Kim be any more controlling? Geeze. Kim Plath wants daughter Lydia Plath to really ‘get to know’ her crush in person before starting a relationship with them, but in today’s technological world, is that really sound advice?
Also, Kim seems to really be pushing the envelope because she creates opportunities to bring this guy’s name up. For instance, she and Olivia were working on websites on the computer and Kim was showing her a website she was doing. She happened to mention that the person that had taught her how to do websites was Olivia.
‘Welcome to Plathville’: Lydia goes slow
Also, Olivia does wedding photography and Kim happened to mention to Lydia that one of the websites that Olivia did was a wedding photography website and Lydia just kind of giggled and that’s when Kim asked in this strict voice, “Why are you giggling?” to which Lydia replied, “Why not?” seriously Kim, why not let Lydia giggle about her crush? Is having feelings wrong too? Lydia innocently went on to mention how maybe when she got married that Olivia could tell her how to do her wedding website and tell her if she was doing anything wrong.
‘Welcome to Plathville’: Kim proceeded to flip out.
She then did everything short of interrogate Lydia about her texting habits and to each question, Lydia assured Kim that it had been weeks since she had been texting her crush and weeks since he had texted her, all because she had decided to pull back (at their insistence, really), I understand that Kim wanted Lydia to wait for a serious relationship until after she graduated high school but at the same time, having someone as a friend or even a friend that you happen to have a crush on, is not that big of a deal these days.
Also, do they really want to produce another child as emotionally stunted as Ethan is? It seem they’re perfectly content with that.
I wil say one thing for Lydia, at least she wants to get married, most Gen Z kids don’t really want to get married, and they certainly don’t want to obey their parents, at least with Lydia she’s trying to obey and do everything she can within the confines that they give her not to screw up. Though with Kim’s lack of trust, it looks like that may be the thing that ends up pushing Lydia away. Stay tuned!!!
