    NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers for the week of May 23rd reveal the writers might be having a bit of fun with the audience. The promo begins by talking about how the devil is gone. Then, Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) says, “Finally!” We think there’s a little trolling going on. However, they also promise a lot of heat yet to come to town. Here’s what you need to know.

    First, we have to get a laugh out of this one. The promo opens with Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) and Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) having that dinner. Which, we think makes it a safe bet Kristen DiMera (Haiduk) kept Gabi’s job safe. But there’s going to be way more than celebrating a professional victory going on.

    In the promo, he talks about wanting to settle down with nice girl. We can’t even type that without laughing, and it seems Gabi might agree that’s not exactly her. However, we are curious to see how this match goes. Gabi hasn’t exactly had luck in this department, and mixing business with it again? Not good, in our book.

    Gabi won’t be the only one having a little romance the week of May 23rd. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) are going to take their platonic arrangement to another level. And we can’t wait to see how Gabi reacts to that. Shin or no Shin, that has got to get under her skin a bit.

    Elsewhere, it looks like Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) will also be having some romance this week. And we’re not really looking forward to this, as the pairing hasn’t exactly grabbed us. We honestly think the whole setup made Rafe look bad and there’s not a lot of payoff here. They’re, in our opinion, a little boring.

    Of course, with all the romance going on, some drama has to happen. That’s going to be Belle Black (Martha Madison) and Shawn Brady’s (Brandon Beemer) job. Shawn is going to accuse EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) of trying to steal Belle.

    And it looks like he might have some reason to be jealous. The promo also shows EJ and Belle kissing. Honestly, we feel for Shawn with the position he’s been put in, but it’s clear he’s doing all the wrong things in Belle’s book when it comes to Jan. And with Jan wanting to take over Belle’s office for a nursery? Well, we can see where this would lead to a situation like this.
