Tyler Perry has shared a glimpse of his special relationship with Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her 41st birthday on Friday and received multiple celebratory messages, including from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. But it’s a message from Perry that is melting hearts. Here’s what you need to know.
“I’ve had a front row seat in your life for the past few years. I’ve watched you endure things that would have broken a lot of people,” the actor wrote alongside a photo of Meghan kissing a young girl’s hand.

“I’m so incredibly proud to see how happy you, your husband, and your kids are now,” he concluded. Perry shares a special bond with Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, after he helped them when they first moved to America in 2020.
Channel24 previously reported that Before settling down in their home in Santa Barbara, Meghan and Prince Harry stayed at Perry’s mansion in Beverly Hills with son Archie (their daughter, Lilibet Diana, was born in June 2021) as they transitioned out of their senior royal roles.
Back in July, Prince Harry admitted that he knew Meghan was his soul mate during their trip to Africa together. According to People, during his UN speech, he said: “For most of my life, it has been my lifeline, a place where I found peace and healing time and time again. t’s where I felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died, and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent time together in Botswana when they first started dating – and returned to Africa, and visited South Africa, for their successful Sussex Royal Tour in 2019. He reflected fondly on a photograph of Princess Diana and Nelson Mandela as well during his speech.
“On my wall and in my heart, every day is an image of my mother and Mandela meeting in Cape Town in 1997. When I first looked at the photo, straight away, what jumped out was the joy on my mother’s face,” he said.
