The police department in Jacksonville, Florida was shocked to find that a former Navy officer pleaded guilty to killing her young daughter. The five-year-old was found buried in Alabama and her mother, Brianna Williams could face life in prison for the incident.
True Crime: What Happened?
Williams made a phone call to the police on November 6, 2019. She had reported her daughter missing and said that when she got home, the house looked as if someone broke in and her daughter was nowhere to be found. The police seemed to have had a lot of trouble with Williams since the investigation began. They told the press that she “became uncooperative with law enforcement and lied about several key timeline facts about Taylor.”
True Crime: Former Navy Officer Charged With Murder Of Daughter
The police’s statement read, “Williams traveled to rural Alabama a few days before reporting her daughter missing and then went back to Jacksonville.” Then on November 12, 2019, the Demopolis Police Department found some human remains in the area where Williams had traveled to. The Assistant State Attorney said, “Some of the recovered remains showed evidence of potential malnourishment, trauma, and disease.”
When the police were searching the home, they found bloodstains all over the house, along with feces, maggots, and dirty clothes in her car as well. There were some very strong scents in her home and car that smelled like decay, but also the potent smell of cleaning products as if she was trying to hide the smells. Not only this, but the police found a shower curtain, cardboard, a knife, gloves, rope, and plastic in the area where her daughter’s body was found.
According to the investigation, the police also found that Williams has been torturing her daughter, punishing her, and had locked her in a cage in her home. The signs of malnourishment were there and it was clear that she hadn’t fed her daughter in weeks before her body was discovered.
This case is one that is brutal and for those who have been following it, they do hope that Williams will get life in prison and not just the minimum of 15 years. This is a horrible crime and our thoughts and hearts go out to those who knew Williams’ and her daughter. We hope that Williams understands that what she has done is an awful act and will never be forgiven. We will continue to keep an eye on this case and hope that justice is served.
