Former NFL player, Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been charged with domestic violence charges in the state of Washington. The 29-year-old was arrested and taken into custody on Friday night. There are two charges that he has been accused of: felony harassment threats and domestic violence.

    True Crime: What Happened?

On Friday night, he was booked around 9 p.m. and it appears that he is now being held without bail. The charges against him are “one count of felony harassment threats, domestic violence and death threats, and one count of misdemeanor assault and domestic violence.” There has been no word on what caused the arrest, but this is actually not the first time that he has been in trouble with the law.

The former tight end, played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was drafted in 2014. He has been arrested several times on charges that come from substance abuse. Back in 2013, he was found guilty of a drunk driving charge and he was told he had to spend one day in jail for that. Then, three years later, he was arrested again for suspicion of drunk driving once again.

In 2016, the Florida Highway Patrol pulled him over when he was driving 80 miles an hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. He cut off the highway trooper when he was changing lanes. He was said to be weaving in and out of traffic and at a high rate of speed. Not only did they charge him with a DUI, he was also charged for driving with a suspended license and he was operating a car without an ignition interlock device. He was asked to install this device on his car after his DUI in 2013.

Austin was released by the Buccaneers after these incidents occurred. He had only played two games when he joined the team. He did get another DUI charge back in 2020 in Washington. This time he was given another charge and had to serve more time in jail and pay quite the hefty fees. Once again, he was seen “driving erratically” on the highway.

He has been signed again and by the New England Patriots in 2019, but he was released shortly afterward due to his personal issues.

We will continue to keep you posted on what happens with his charges and once we get more information on what stemmed the reasons for the arrest, we will update you as well. We hope that the other person involved is doing all right.
