President Joe Biden opted to skip dinner with NATO leaders on Tuesday and instead went directly to his hotel in Lithuania. An explanation provided by a US official cited the president’s busy schedule over four days and his need to prepare for a forthcoming “big speech” on Wednesday as the reason for his absence.
Despite concerns about his health and age, Biden expressed confidence in his chances for re-election in 2024, even though he would be 86 by the end of a potential second term.
During his interactions with Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Biden congratulated him on his own election victory and indicated a willingness to work together for the next five years.
President Joe Biden DITCHES NATO Dinner To Go Straight Back To The Hotel, Too Sleepy For Dinner?
Secretary of State Antony Blinken represented the United States at the dinner in Biden’s place. The decision to forgo the event came after discussions with Turkish officials about maintaining a relationship with Russia, which led some officials to consider a less strenuous approach.
Specific details about the situation and Biden’s remarks have been scarce. Prior to the trip, Biden mentioned the involvement of jets and Sweden in a CNN interview, but following his comments, he remained tight-lipped and unaffected by questions from US reporters.
Aides signaled the end of the press event, leading media members out of the room.
This comes about the same time as Biden spilling some military secrets during a live interview on television, explaining that the US Military is running low on ammunition, sending a clear message to our enemies that now would be a great time to make their move.
It doesn’t look like he’ll be in any shape to run again in 2024, and the Democratic Party doesn’t seem to have many answers either. What’s next for the United States and why do you think he left before the dinner?
