TLC’s newest heart-felt family reality show, The Blended Bunch ended their 6 episode season on a heartwarming note.
Erica Means and Spencer Shemwell finally created one big (and we mean BIG) family when the couple, who found love with each other again after the deaths of their respective previous spouses adopted each other’s children.
Erica and late husband, Tony (who died of cancer) had seven children while Spencer and late wife Aimee (killed in a car crash that involved the entire family) had four. Now the collective eleven kids are full siblings thanks to the heart-tugging adoption ceremony.
TLC’s The Blended Bunch finishes short season with heartwarming adoption day
While Erica’s eldest daughter Emma was initially against adding Shemwell to her last name, fearing she was losing her father again with the loss of been known as simply Emma Means, she relented and, happily accepted Spencer’s proposal when he officially asked if he could adopt her.
Spencer’s only biological daughter and Emma’s adversary, 8 year old Harper on the other hand, along with her three brothers were elated to accept Erica’s formal adoption proposal.
There was barely a dry eye in the house, though, when Erica’s 9 year old daughter, Lily who didn’t get a lot of screen time over the 6 episodes, accepted Spencer’s adoption proposal with a hug and a “Yes Daddy!”
The show’s villain- Erica’s ‘a little too involved brother’, Quinn and his downer attitude about a possible baby for Erica and Spencer seemed to put a dampener on Adoption Day. However, his brother-in-law (not Spencer) took to Twitter to assure fans it wasn’t the case.
Unfortunately the show made it seem like He did but didn’t at all haha, my wife, Erica’s sister, said it was an amazingly fun day. And Quinn was so happy for them. The show just made Quinn out to be that way #theblendedbunch
