‘Welcome to Plathville’ spoilers reveal that Olivia Plath has decided to leave the fundamentalist lifestyle, and boy howdy has she! On the most recent episode of Plathville, she got a belly-button piercing!
She already has a nose ring, and has cut her hair (not super short, but definitely shorter) and now she’s doing what a lot of young 20-something girls do, she’s getting a belly-button ring. You know what? More power to Olivia. Of course, Ethan had his misgivings about it.

You could really, really see Ma and Pa Plath’s way of life trying to rear its ugly head when Olivia first mentioned getting the piercing. He didn’t directly say anything against it, but you could tell that he wanted to and he was holding back so much.
He even gave being intimate as a reason not to get a belly-button piercing, thinking that they couldn’t be intimate for up to 6 weeks because she had the piercing! Olivia was quick to correct him and say that it would be no more horrible than when she had her nose piercing and they couldn’t make out.
Looks like Ethan has one thing and one thing only on the brain! Try as he might though, nothign was preventing Olivia from getting her belly-button pierced, even though he told her that if she had a problem with anything he wanted to change, he wouldn’t do it. She said “Well, I guess that’s just one of the differences between you and me.”
So they get to the tattoo parlor and I’m amazed Ethan didn’t go running out of the place screaming. You could tell that he wanted to, and he even tried to plant the seeds of doubt in Olivia’s head when they were in the parking lot, man, he tried himself, but nope.
She was going in and getting it done anyway. The second he saw the devil face, and the Uncle Sam version of V, he wanted to run. He said growing up in the Plath household he wasn’t really exposed to a lot of body art and if he had seen these images in the woods he would have run. (I think it’s safe to say that anyone would have run had they seen a random image of V in the woods, just saying.)
Olivia ended up getting her belly-button pierced, and as it turns out, it’s only going to be 3 weeks that Ethan is deprived of intimacy with his wife. Let’s hope that they’re not planning on having kids anytime soon because, as Olivia said, then the real crying will begin. Stay tuned!!!
