TLC ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ spoilers reveal that Daddy Deerico taking aside the boys in order to impart some valuable wisdom to them, and that is how to generate income. Now, Daddy Derrico is a real estate investor and obviously knows how to make the coin.
In a lot of big families you often see the patriarchs educate their children on their personal philosophy about life but you don’t often hear them educating their young men on how to make a sustainable living in the world after they have left home. We need more of this.
TLC ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ Spoilers – Life Lessons from Daddy
He was teaching them about different income streams and different ways to make money. What I liked about this is that he was not using the lesson to force a particular agenda but rather focusing the lesson on what the kids would take from it in the end.
He also has a particular emphasis on not letting the children think that they had to grow up tpo fast and said that as a family that they have a reciprocal relationship, meaning the Mom and Dad do for the kids and in return the kids help the parents. However there does not seem to be this trend of children parenting other children that we have seen in other large families.
In fact, even though Karen was only a few days away from being admitted to being in the hospital on bed rest for the birth of her triplets she said she was worried about her eldest daughter Darien having too much responsibility and feeling overwhelmed.
This is in sharp contrast to some other families we’ve seen where the Mom places the household responsibilities squarely on the elder children’s shoulders and thinks that just because they provide a roof over their head and and basic necessities that this should be an adequate exchange for a child’s time, feelings be damned.
I have some high praise for the Derricos so far, they seem to be doing things right. However this is just the first episode but so far I like what I see. Stay tuned!!!
