TLC ‘Doubling Down With The Derricos’ spoilers finds that Darien Derrico has turned 14 and like a lot of teenage girls is going through her first crush. But imagine going through your first crush when you have 13 other siblings, and right now Mom and Dad need all hands on deck to be able to handle the rest of your siblings.
You want to go hang with your friends and normally Mom and Dad wouldn’t mind but right now they’re still geting into the new rhythm of adding three more to their brood, including one that is, at least for the time being, special needs.
Good thing for good ol’ Gigi, she realizes what Darien is going through and realizes that right now, Karen and Deon have their hands full and don’t realize that their little girl is growing up before their very eyes and wants to do some beginning teenage-level stuff.

She doesn’t want to go to the LOL playhouse, she wants to hang out with her own friends. Gigi, who’s a little more her speed right now and a little more removed from the situation, realizes that Darien is not so little anymore and needs to stretch her wings a bit.
The good thing is that the Derricos realize that Darien needs time away from her siblings. They’re not so proud to think that all of this structured playtime is a replacement for actual freedom, Deon admitted that he allows for his children to let off steam in ways that are totally original, and that’s a good thing. And GiGi says that Darien is like the daughter that she wanted, that she never had. Awww!!!
Darien has a codename for her crush called “Bagel” and that’s so no one will know who they’re talking about when they speak of him – ah, to be 14 again! Fortunately, Gigi plays along and is completely willing to go to bat for her with her parents about letting her do more things with people her age.
She has also said that she will be there for Darien, and that she has her number and to call her at anytime about anything. What a good, supportive Grandma! And you can tell Darien cherishes her to the hilts, she cried when she started talking about her Grandma. Aww!!!
Perhaps GIgi could have picked a better time to bring it up with Mom and Dad Derrico however because she just got in on the aftermath of Mommy and Daddy having the big conversation about Deon not bonding with little Dawsyn. Woo. Stay tuned!!!
