John and Abbie were a couple that married much later in life than the others. Generally, the Duggars will start courting the girl they like when they are teenagers. This will then lead to marriage and then children. Abbie and John didn’t meet until much later than their teenage years. John was 28 and Abbie was 26 when they decided to get married. After only being married for a year, the two are happy about their daughter coming!

John and Abbie are not one of the couples that tried to get pregnant immediately. They waited about six months before they started trying. Some think that they were trying sooner, but they have never said otherwise. It looks like these two aren’t really in a rush to have children and we respect that choice very much!
