TLC ‘1,000 Pound Sisters’: Why They Want To Share Their Lives

Both of the women have YouTube Channels of their own. They have posted many videos that have gone viral and together, they have about 136,000 followers. They have been documenting their weight loss journey for a few years now and TLC decided to take on their story and share it with us.

Amy told TLC that she used to be a normal weight, but that all changed when her grandmother died. This was when she was 10 years old. She was very depressed and started turning to food in order to make herself feel better. “My mom worked two to three jobs at a time, and my grandma was basically our mom. When she died, our whole world changed.” There were other siblings, but Amy and Tammy pretty much took care of each other. When they were young, they didn’t know how to cook, so they were left to eat prepackaged meals and frozen dinners. All of these foods do not have the best nutritional value and this is what started it all.

Amy said that she decided to lose weight when she got married. She wants to have a baby, but her weight has been an issue in doing so. The doctors have told her that there could be complications because her health is not the best. Tammy just wants to lose weight to be healthier. She has had a lot of problems with blood clots and being sick and she said that she is done and now needs to lose weight. We are very excited to see Tammy and Amy on their weight loss journey and you can start watching them on January 1st on TLC.
