It doesn’t take much to make headlines when you mess with the most popular TikTok celebrity in the world. Charli D’Amelio is suing photographer, Jake Doolittle for claiming that she used one of his pictures in her book, Essentially Charli. He told the press that she used a picture without his permission and has slammed her name for doing so. Now it looks like she is trying to take legal action against him after he made these claims.
‘TikTok’: Jake’s Allegations
Jake told the press that Charli has made millions of dollars and it is all because she used one of his pictures. He did get credited for the picture, but he thinks that he is entitled to funds from the sales of the book. Charli’s legal team found out what he was claiming and immediately looked further into this matter. They threatened to take action and that is when Jake went on YouTube to explain himself.
He told his viewers, “I got a call from someone at the D’Amelio team asking me to delete all the posts, scaring me into not making a video saying more about it and threatening to get lawyers involved if I keep spreading what they deem as false information. I deleted everything that has to do with Charli D’Amelio or the team. I should have known it would make me look guilty. But when you’re on the phone with someone from the D’Amelio team asking you to delete everything, you do it.”
Jake has said that he has no issues with Charli, it’s everyone that’s on her team. “It felt amazing to have my work wanted, but it’s frustrating to be so small that I have no power to get paid for it.” Jake ended up saying, “It makes me think I can’t be the only person that this has happened to. I feel powerless when it’s me fighting against a big media conglomerate with managers, lawyers, public relations people, and so much more.”
The video that Jake made is still up on YouTube and it seems as if he will continue to fight to get the credit and payment he deserves. It is a big odd that Charli’s team wouldn’t just try and find a way to pay him or give him the proper credit since they did use his photograph in her book.
