A TikTok video has gone viral after an employee of ‘Hooters’ was ‘assaulted’ from a fellow customer.
TikTok Video Goes Viral After A White Customer At Hooters Grabs A Black Waitress’ Hair-‘I Know Black People Can’t Grow Long Hair Like That’
Rather than focusing on the things that he wanted to buy, the man was more focused on the ethnicity of the worker. This may have been due to the fact that the employee was working in a mostly white male area, as shown in her following video.
In the video here, TikToker @yezmineex said the following comments: “[A customer] started off by asking me my ethnicity. This dude grabs the back of my hair and says, ‘this isn’t your real hair, is it?'”
Naturally, she was taken aback, given that she had been touched without her consent at an establishment where she was simply doing her job. Despite being in shock, @yezmineex managed to keep it together.
Rather than retaliating with a verbal tirade, she simply told the customer that her hair was real. And yet, that was not good enough for the man. He stated: ”No, it isn’t. I know Black people can’t grow long hair like that.”
The reaction on social media was a huge condemnation. Many people agreed that this behaviour was out of order, and some even suggested that the police should have been involved.
After all, there is a high chance of that customer losing his job if this actually came out. One user wrote: “Isn’t that assault?” while another stated: “You have the patience of a saint. I would’ve thrown hands. I’m sorry that happened to you.”
To add insult to injury, the customer still had the audacity to leave a tip to make sure that he could minimise any damage that may have been done. So generous was he?
Well, given the way he had already behaved, it is not surprising that he was far from generous. With that in mind, it turned out that he left the worker a solitary tip of $5.
The man has not yet responded to the claims that have been made, which is understandable given that he would most likely be barred from the establishment.
