TikTok stars truly are the new embarrassing infleuncers, right? That’s what a lot of people seem to be saying this week as Dixie D’Amelio and Charli D’Amelio are being accused of being ungrateful brats after their family posted a video to their YouTube channel that depicted a cringeworthy dinner table fiasco between their parents, Marc and Heidi, fellow TikToker James Charles and a personal chef by the name of Aaron May.
The video, the first in a series called “Dinner With the D’Amelios,” features a scene in which the chef is talking about the background of some of the dishes that he is serving up.

“It’s classic paella, and it’s actually an omen of good luck and fortune,” he says to the D’Amelio family. Charli replied with an awkward but blunt, “Liars.”
After Dixie tried one of the snails, she gagged and ran outside to vomit in front of the chef.
“I threw up; that was not good,” the 19-year-old says.
If that weren’t enough, there was another scene in the video in which Charli is complaining that she hasn’t hit 100 million followers on the hit dance app fast enough. As a result, she ended up losing almost one million followers overnight.
“Ugh, I just wish I had more time because imagine if I hit 100 mil one year after hitting a mil,” Charli says.
“95 million not enough for you?” Charles asked.
“Well I was just like saying like, even numbers,” said Charli.
It didn’t take very long for Dixie to do damage control as she posted as TikTok on Thursday morning in which she said, “Hey guys, if you are coming here to comment hate like this, maybe hold on one second and know the full story. I’m so grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve had, so I would never in any way want to be taken as disrespectful, especially from an out-of-context 15-second clip. So basically, my team knows I throw up a lot. I could throw up at the smell, the thought or the taste of anything. So, when they saw the snails, they were like, ‘Oh, let’s get her and try to see if we can get a reaction out of her.’”
Unfortunately for her and the rest of the family, the damage might have already been done.
