If someone like Thomas Markle thinks that your on-air antics are embarrassing, then you know it’s bad. Apparently, Meghan Markle’s father even thinks her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show was a “stupid stunt” and even embarassing for someone of her status. Here’s what you need to know.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Thomas branded the interview as “embarrassing.” The Duchess of Sussex participated in a prank skit on the daytime television show. She wore cat ears, devoured hot sauce on crackers like a chipmunk and held a huge crystal to her face during the segment.
Even Thomas Markle Thinks Meghan Markle’s Appearance On The Ellen DeGeneres Show Was “Embarrassing”
Meghan got Ellen-style goofy when she donned an earpiece so Ellen could tell her what to say and do as she perused the wares of three vendors on the studio lot.
Thomas put it this way, “It’s no way to behave. The whole thing was kind of embarrassing. It was certainly embarrassing for the Royal Family. “It’s embarrassing for her as well. I suspect it embarrassed everyone in the UK, too. She’s putting herself out there as a duchess but I’ve never seen a duchess behave this way, doing stupid stunts.”
Back in September, Thomas said that he would not move forward with his plans to sue Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for visitation rights to his two grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.
In an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Thomas said that even though he would love to meet his grandchildren one day, he won’t take their parents to court over it.
He put it this way: “I’ve had offers from several lawyers – pro-bono – because we do have the right to sue to see our grandchildren. But to me that’s like trying to descend into a game and using them like pawns and I won’t sue to see them because I just think that’s using them and it’s not what I plan to do. They shouldn’t be used, they are just babies. So no, I will wait. I will wait patiently until they are ready to bring them to me. But as long as my daughter has the attitude she doesn’t want me to see them, that’s the way it’s going to be.”
With that said though, Thomas did say he thinks it would be best if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved their family back to the U.K. Just like Thomas, Prince Charles also hasn’t met his granddaughter Lilibet, nor has he seen Archie in almost two years.
Thomas put it this way: “I would like them, all four of them, to go back to England and fulfill their duties. It’s better for the children and it’s better for them. By not taking back they are cheating their children. They also get much better protection in England than in Montecito. I would like to see them maybe make up with the Queen and make up with his (Harry’s) father, and then we can make up.”
