Art Basel in Miami was full with memorable and thought-provoking works of art, but few could compete with a live breast-milking display that drew bids up to $200,000. Over the weekend during Miami Art Week, modern artist OONA performed “MILKING THE ARTIST” with Lori Baldwin in front of a large crowd.

Before OONA began to squeeze milk from her breast, the two artists shouted about fetishizing the female breast. We have to say, it appears that they are using prosthetics, but the artist assures us that “They are as real as you want them to be.”

After auctioning off the milk to the crowd and receiving a $200K price, the two were ejected from the Art Basel premises. A MASSIVE bowl of eggs, a textile picture of Salt-N-Pepa, and a fully-functioning ATM that publicly evaluated people based on how much money was in their bank account were all on show at Art Basel.

Art comes in all shapes and is up to the viewer to decide what they see in it. Subjective is what they say. However, how this qualifies as ‘art’ is a bit confusing. What is this adding and how does it make people feel? It is definitely a bizarre showing and one that was met with criticism.

I’m not personally sure this is ‘art’, but, to each their own. It’s interesting that it was bid on for $200k. Who had that kind of money to bid on something like that?

What do you think? Does this qualify as art and was it the correct move to remove them from the show? Would you have bid one the ‘art’ if you had the money? Let us know in the comments below.
