Y&R’s Victor Newman has convinced his children, by his behavior, that something is seriously wrong with him. He is making erratic decisions that could be dangerous for the company. He also is struggling to remember things. Victor has called people by the wrong names and is also forgetting about key events.
He has told Y&R’s Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) that he is truly concerned about his mental health. Nate has agreed to quietly help him find someone who can do an evaluation. Nate is trying to set that up secretly to protect Newman Enterprises.
On the other hand, Victor has told Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas) that he is fine. He has told her that this is all a plan to catch his children, who are planning to make a move against him. So, which one is it? Is Victor in trouble? Or did he just make up a plan to test his children’s loyalty?

There is a high likelihood that things are going to get even messier at Newman. If this was all a carefully crafted plan, Victor may be ready to fire someone from Newman.
His children are already upset, but they are going to think that he is even more mentally unhinged. Y&R’s Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is already very distressed that he doesn’t trust her. She has given all of her devotion to the success of the company and has never given her father a reason to question her.
If he admits that it is true that he is having mental health challenges, what kind of battle is going to ensue for the right to lead the company through this difficult time. Who will come out as the winner if it comes to that? What is Victor going to tell his family?
