‘The Young and the Restless’ (GH) spoilers confirm that TV Insider broke the shocking news that Billy Flynn, who currently plays Chad DiMera on Days Of Our Lives, is set to exit the soap due to Day’s unusual shooting schedule; Flynn will air through 2026.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Flynn’s Character May Have Ties To Damian Kane
However, he will soon head to The Young and The Restless this spring, and his role on the show is being kept under wraps. The only information given is that he will be playing an entirely new character.
We have a sneaking suspicion that Flynn will play Aristotle Dumas, the elusive owner of the conglomerate Arabesque, which filters the companies Damian runs. Aristotle is the new owner of Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) business.
Dumas is a source of curiosity for several major players in Genoa City, including Victor Newman (Eric Braden), who is investigating him.
Aristotle is also said to be a billionaire. It will be interesting to see someone as powerful as the Great Victor Newman show up and be the new frontrunner in town.
Y&R is known for its signature corporate drama, so Aristotle’s presence in town would fit right in with the other major players, Newman Media, Chancellor, and Jabot.
It would provide a much-needed shake-up as Billy Flynn is an incredible actor and would add interest to Y&R.
However, there is the chance that someone else could be behind Arabesque, like Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John). Dumas may be a cover for Damain as a strategy to defeat other businesses in town and not even a real person.
This new, intriguing character, whoever he is, could also help Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) get over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), who has clearly moved on with Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).
He could wine and dine with her and make her fall in love with him. He could make her forget all about competing in Claire and Kyle’s relationship.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Flynn Will Add Interest To Y&R
We could also see Flynn having chemistry with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). While right now, she’s in a serious relationship with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). However, that could change if she’s attracted to a new handsome stranger. This stranger is much like Tucker; he isn’t afraid to fight dirty to get what he wants.
Flynn could also be the offspring of a formidable family from years ago. Y&R can mine its rich history to create a character who has ties to Genoa City through his parents.
Whatever character Y&R chooses to flesh out for Flynn, we know he can bring a complex, nuanced approach to the role. After all, he’s been playing a DiMera on Days for ten years.
Flynn admitted when the news broke of his Days departure that he wants to explore other roles and opportunities.
Y&R executive producer and lead writer Josh Griffith is excited to see what Flynn can bring to the table. He already has work experience with Flynn, as he wrote for Days when Flynn first started on the show.
Griffith remarked,
“On behalf of the entire company of The Young and The Restless, we look forward to welcoming Billy to the show. He will be an excellent addition to Y&R’s stellar cast.”
