‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was killed off rather suddenly, and there seems to be some other things behind the reasoning to do. Just a few months ago, the actor and the show agreed to a three year deal! However, it was cut off after just 6 months?

Jordi explained this in an episode of his new podcast with wife, Kaitlin Vilasuso, saying,

“I had re-signed back in October for another three years. But in these contracts, there are six-month intervals where the show can decide not to re-sign you for the next six months. So that’s what happened.”

This has upset several viewers who liked the character of Rey Rosales, and the way he’s been killed off makes us believe there was something going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about. A sudden decision like this to kill him off after 6 months seems fishy on it’s own.

However, what I find interesting is that there is nothing about the character on their YouTube channel or social media. Instead, the focus of the story seems to be on Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). Why are they not talking about Rey more and what happened to the three year deal that they just agreed on?

Sure, soap characters are killed and chased out of town all the time, but the reasoning behind this one seems shaky at best. If I were to guess, I think there were some disagreements behind the scenes and the writers and Jordi didn’t see eye to eye. I could be wrong, but this doesn’t seem like the normal way to do this.
