‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that “Saint Claire” needs to get over herself. Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) crucifying Holden Novak (Nathan Owen) is such a joke.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Claire Tried to Kill Her Own Family
Claire got her start in the Newman family by almost killing them via poison as she took direction from her crazy aunt Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk). She was also involved in hooking up her alcoholic grandmother to an IV tube filled with vodka.

A sketchy DNA test revealed that Claire was baby Eve, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and Cole Howard’s (Eddie J. Peck) presumed-dead daughter.
So, Saint Claire was handed the keys to the Newman kingdom. Now, she’s a beloved member of the family. She was in a serious relationship with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
It’s the ill-favored romance that head writer, Josh Griffith, nauseatingly compared to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. You know, since the Newman and Abbott families don’t get along.

Then, Claire suddenly longed to go on a journey of “self-discovery.” In order to do that, she left Genoa City to go with Holden on a sightseeing tour of Los Angeles.
Claire went to the Shadow Room with Holden, took several shots of whiskey, shared one night of passion with him, then she was suddenly too good for Holden. She got back to Genoa City, and it was like nothing happened between them.
Sure, Holden was still in her orbit, but she clearly wasn’t interested in pursuing a relationship with him, which is fine.

However, can we admit that Claire wanted to “take a break” from Kyle so that she could have guilt-free sex with Holden? I mean, it’s beyond obvious.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Holden Feared What Claire Would Think of Him
Now that Claire is done sowing her wild oats, she’s written Holden off because of a secret he shares with her nemesis, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), that’s really none of her business to begin with.
Holden saved Audra when he physically attacked someone who was going to harm her. Holden ended up killing the man, an art dealer whom Audra had stolen money from.

So what? Holden didn’t fully explain the story partly because Audra asked him not to, and also because Holden feared what Claire would think of him.
Claire killed her aunt Jordan with a cup of poison tea. Yes, she was protecting the family she initially tried to kill, but she’s awfully choosy about which sins are more offensive than others.
In the end, Holden may be better off without Saint Claire. Holden is too interesting a character to be brought down by someone as smug and self-righteous as Claire, especially since she tried to kill her own family. Who cares about Holden and Audra’s nothing- burger of a secret?
Additionally, Claire also judges Audra for not being truthful about her past. Again, it’s none of her business. While we know that Audra is no angel, neither is Claire.

Anyway, it’s obvious that Claire is gravitating toward Kyle again, because now that she spent the night with Holden, apparently that counts as “self-discovery.” Evidently, that’s all it took for Claire to come back to the Abbott golden boy with a silver spoon in his mouth.
God help us. We’re about to be subjected to yet another round of this boring couple. Kyle and Claire are together again. Lucky us.
