‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that in a sneak peek for next week, we see Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) hugging! Okay, in the scene, Diane rushes up and embraces Jack, much to the disgust of their son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Diane has made huge strides to reconnect with her son and even Jack to some extent, so much so that Jack defended her against his own sister, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), when she was questioning her and plotting to push her out of town with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Why Doesn’t Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) Want His Parents Back Together?

Kyle has been very friendly and tolerant of his mother, despite her flaws and her prior history, thanks to everything Diane has done to overcome her failed relationship with her son. He wanted to reconnect with her, and they had been doing so.

Even though Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) revealed some information about Diane, Kyle was able to look past it and appreciate her for who she is today rather than her former self. However, rekindling his relationship with his father may be too much for him to endure.

I assumed Kyle would be happy to see his parents getting along so well and celebrate their friendship, but that was not the look on his face as he questioned if he was interrupting something.

Jack will undoubtedly have a nice reason for his kid, but I believe Diane is interested in re-exploring her bond with Jack, if he and Kyle are as well. I believe Kyle feels more protective of them since he now has a wonderful relationship with both of his parents, which may be taken away if they rekindle their relationship.

What do you think? Would you like to see Jack and Diane together again and why do you think Kyle is so nervous about their situation? Let us know in the comments below.
