‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) still has a long way to go to rebuild her relationship with her children. Will she be able to convince them that she can and will change?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Time to Celebrate
Phyllis decides that she wants to throw a party with cake and champagne. She has avoided jail. The judge decided that she will serve probation and have community service. This is very lenient considering all that happened.
Phyllis faked her death with the help of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) and framed Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Diane was sent to prison. When Phyllis attended her own memorial service, she regretted her decision to be “dead”. She knew she couldn’t be away from her children forever and she didn’t like seeing them grieve.
When Jeremy finds out that she doesn’t plan on disappearing, but plans on seeing her kids, he decides to kill her. He knows that she will pin it all on him, and he figures it is fine to kill a dead person. When he attacks her with a pair of scissors, she fights back and ends up killing him.
Instead of calling the police and blaming everything on Stark at the moment, she dumps the body and goes on the run. She has to work to find out a way to get free and clear of the charges, which is messy and troublesome. When Phyllis decides to plead guilty to the charges, the judge listens to her story and gives her a slap on the wrist.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Cold Reception
Phyllis throws the party for her children and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman). She wants them to be excited that she is free. The kids are shocked and surprised. They aren’t as happy as she expects them to be. She thinks that they will be impressed that she chose to plead guilty to save them from facing any charges.
But Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) are through with their mother’s antics. They are tired of the way that she has operated and the positions she has put them in. Daniel and Summer need to see her actively making good choices before they want to celebrate anything. They take off, leaving her to think about how to prove that she wants to be different.
Do you think Phyllis will succeed? Will she be able to really turn over a new leaf? Or will this not be possible because she has never faced any consequences for her choices?
